My first introduction to Musk Therapy by Initio Parfums was a disaster. Trying it on in store, I thought it smelled horrible. But I gave the fragrance the benefit of the doubt. After all, the attendant did slather a sunscreen on my hand before I made way over to the fragrance counter. Maybe that affected how it smelled. Now that I’ve been smelling it on clean skin over the past few days, I think much more highly of it.
I like it.
It gives me what I liked about Blanche by Byredo, without smelling anything like it. It’s a fragrance that I think is perfect for everyday wear. For when I want to smell good, even if I don’t want to be noticed. But rather than smelling “clean”, like soap, it is like clean skin that is slightly floral.
As a bonus, I sprayed this on not realizing I still had some Guerlain Spiriteuse Double Vanille lingering on my skin. They elevated each other. I would then again pair them intentionally, this time layering on Musk Therapy and going over top with the Guerlain. They are together better the sum of their parts. I wish I had more of that fragrance to keep testing it, but I may just see if other vanilla fragrances in my collection will work just the same.
If you are interested in just smelling good, subtle but put together, give Musk Therapy.
