I am wearing zero makeup today, just sunscreen and lip balm. And yet, I was sure to use the Sephora Collection Boost & Lock eye primer. Huh? Hear me out.
Maybe like me, you find yourself wanting to wear your sunscreen everyday, especially when you are out in the sun. You’re out there moving, you’re heating out. And so are your eyes, as they start to burn as the sunscreen runs down. I don’t like that, and I imagine you don’t either. This is where the primer comes in to play.
The same oil absorbing formula that can keep your eyeshadow from creasing could help absorb the oil of your sunscreen. Or at least that is what I’m hoping will happen for me as I go about the rest of my day. This morning, before I headed out for an hour, I sprayed on the Ultra Violette Preen Screen. When I got back, I could feel the sunscreen slowly going into my eyes. It was time to start the experiment. At that point I dabbed primer on to my eyelids.
It’s now two hours later. It seems my problem has been resolved, except the outer corner of my eyes. It is now extremely apparent that I did not apply primer there. But even then, I’m not constantly blinking with discomfort as my eyes try to defend themselves from an oncoming threat. Nor are they burning at all.
Huge disclaimer: It is now autumn here. The intense summer heat and hours in the sun are behind me. I don’t know how well this hack would hold up with heavy sweating or frequent sunscreen reapplications. But for my days of quick errands or just going into work, it will support my sunscreen usage just fine.
This is a hack that will help me as I continue to test sunscreens. But maybe there are other solutions you use. Maybe you powder your face to reduce shine and find that helps. Or maybe you use a mattifying sunscreen on your forehead, which reduces product running. Let me know what tricks you have. And of course, I will actually try this product with some makeup, too.
