News just broke: Jaden Smith will be the men’s director for Christian Louboutin. I don’t know what to do with that news. I could dive into where Smith’s credibility as a shoe designer comes from. I could dive deeper into Monsieur Louboutin’s decision, as he spoke so highly of the former Karate Kid. But I won’t. I’m just going to speculate instead: Art is art.
Because we wear it on our bodies, I think we forget that fashion design is an art form.
All I know, perhaps all I need to know is that Jaden Smith is an artist, Christian Louboutin sees something in him, and that we will just have to see what he does next.
