More lavishly expensive beauty

While the internet was offended and shocked by the price of Louis Vuitton’s newest beauty products, Chanel has had a $360 lip oil all along. So of course I had to try it.

I walked into Nordstrom, observing the packaging, hoping it would give me some clue to the price. “Do you want to try it?,” the client advisor asked. “Yes, yes I do.” She dipped the tester stick into the product. I took it from her. I didn’t noticed any smell as I applied it to my lips. But I will say this: It felt luxurious. It’s an oil, but it didn’t feel oily. It glided onto my very chapped lips. (Perfect for testing.) I will admit, I was hoping it would instantly hydrate and replump them. It did not, but it felt like it was trying. Throughout the day, though, it did seem that my lips were starting to feel better and better. And even with eating and drinking, they didn’t dry out again.

This product is meant to be an overnight treatment, not one that you leave in your purse and apply throughout the day. (Unless of course you have it like that, then by all means…) It is also meant to improve your lips over time.  Curiosity is eating at me. I really want to know how well it would work to improve the condition of my lips. Maybe at some point, curiosity will win, and  I’ll buy it for myself. But until then, I can tell you to maybe get in to store and try it for yourself.
