A Wren Says

I decided to test the Ultra Violette Preen Screen for two reasons. First, I wanted an option to be able reapply my sunscreen throughout the day using a spray. Second, I have seen so many people talk about the brand that I figured it was time for me to try it for myself. Here is what I noticed as I used it.

• It’s a spray.

Okay, that is something you would notice without actually using it. Let me explain myself. Because it is a spray, I found applying it made for some uncomfortable moment. It created a cloud that I didn’t want to breathe in. When I did, I could taste. Of course, I needed to keep my eyes closed, and that meant that I couldn’t really see what I was doing. When I did finally open my eyes, I could tell that I missed some spots. Also, when I opened my eyes, it burned.

• My poor eyes.

After spraying my face, I went to open my eyes. That was a bad idea. It stung. It was so bad that I tried to figure out ways to cover my eyes while applying to product to keep anything from even touching my eyelids. Eventually, I went to website and saw they recommended letting the product dry before opening your eyes. I started to do that it definitely helped. But as I got more comfortable putting the product on, I noticed that it would run later in the day and my eyes would burn all over again.

• It was drying

This was my first using a non-mattifying sunscreen that didn’t leave my skin looking greasy. And that’s not a good thing. I would notice that later on in the day, my skin started to feel dry and tight and flake. Putting on more didn’t help. Nor did putting on a moisturizer first. (Plus if I have to do that it defeats the whole purpose of an easy touch-up.)

I definitely won’t be repurchasing this product. It just didn’t work for me. I may try more products from the brand to give them another chance, but I’m not so sure that I will.
