Previously on fragrance reviews with A Wren Says, I fell in love with the Dioriviera sent from Dior’s La Collection Privée. The summery scent quickly won me over, making me think that perhaps fig is one of my favorite notes. You can only imagine then my excitement when I noticed the brand stocked the scent, along with many others, as a hand and body wash. Add to cart, please and thank you. Now after fully using the liquid soap, I can tell you exactly what I think.

I placed it in my shower as a body wash to indulge my senses on occasion. While it smelled good, I found that I couldn’t really enjoy the scent in the shower. And it just didn’t give me a satisfying lather either. Instead of leaving the product in my shower caddy, I placed it next to the sink. And now I have to say I really like it. It works so much better as a hand wash.
I have no idea about the physics or fluid dynamics of it, but it lathers better when I use it to just wash my hands. And without the steam of the shower, I can enjoy the scent more as it goes into the air and lingers on my skin. With it, my mundane hygiene practices become special occasions.
While the $75 price tag makes it far more expensive that the rest of the world of body washes, it is much lower than the $220 for the smallest size of the perfume. It’s a way for me to enjoy the scent occasionally without as much of a financial burden. Plus as often as I have to wash my hands, I get to enjoy it much more than if I had just sprayed it on at the start of my day. That said, I don’t see myself making this my go-to hand soap. That seems fiscally irresponsible. But for special occasion or to give occasional house guests the luxury experience? Absolutely. Stock the bathroom.
