People willingly bought dirty sneakers

Dirty, scuffed, destroyed. A sneakerhead’s worst nightmare, until Nike made it a dream. I bring to you the Dirty Triple White Air Force Lows.

This pair of shoes is considered an homage to the life your sneakers typically lead, as they slowly take on wear as they take you through your life. They’re made with a scratchaway texture, meaning that as you wear the shoes, they begin to look fresher and cleaner. They also come with a toothbrush in case you get impatient and want to quickly reset to a fresh pair.

Other features to enhance the worn in look include UV laces that will change in appearance over time with light exposure and a footprint illustration on the sockliner to mimic the depression and wear it takes on with wear.

There are those who would be disgusted by the $130 price tag for “dirty sneakers.” Perhaps it’s the same person who hates Golden Goose and jeans with holes in them. But after the shoes dropped they sold out. As I checked for my size, it is only available from resellers for over $400. Dislike them or not, there is a market for them.

What do you think? Would you have gotten yourself a pair or do you think they already should go in the trash?
