First impressions of the newest scent from Initio Parfums

The sales associate took my hand and sprayed a spritz of Initio Parfums newest fragrance, Power Self. I allowed the fragrance to dry down and tried to hide my disappointment. There was something sharp that I regretted having on the back of my hand.

Power Self

$410 for 90 mL

Notes: White Flowers, Osmanthus, White Rose, Magnolia, Pink Pepper, Ambrox, Musk, Cedarwood

But as time started to wear on, I could smell the powdery, soapy scent that the associate initially described. I walked away from the counter and allowed the scent to continue to develop. It remained “clean,” with a floral note coming through. At the hour mark, I really started to enjoy the fragrance and wonder if I needed a bottle of this. But alas, I had to finally wash my hands, and my trial of the fragrance came to an end.

My first impression of Power Self is a positive one. I want to continue to get to know the fragrance over a full day. I may go and try to get a sample if possible. But we’ll see.

If you are interested, I suggest you get into a store to smell it for yourself.
