Apologies to you, Farmacy and your Honey Halo

I would like to submit a formal apology to you, Honey Halo Hydrating Ceramide Face Moisturizer from Farmacy.  I still had a bit of you remaining in the jar after I had given up on you post my review. So I figured, why not try to use it up this one last time? And this one last time made a difference. This one last time, at the beginning of spring, the day before an impending rain storm, was a very different time.

I first evaluated you in the dead of winter. And I was sorely disappointed. I said that you were meh. That you didn’t hydrate well enough. That I would never repurchase you. I put all of that on you. And for my part, I never gave you the conditions to flourish. But today, I awakened and could sense my skin felt hydrated. And the image in the mirror told the same story. While I still didn’t get a sense of dewiness, my skin looked and felt moisturized. My little honey bee, you are not a winter moisturizer for my dry skin. With glycerin as your first ingredient, after water, you are better served in a more humid climate and perhaps on oilier skin. There was no way, with the dry air that surrounded me all winter long, that you would have been good for my skin.

Now that I think of it, I have provided such a caveat before in my reviews. Even though I don’t like a product on my skin, that doesn’t mean it’s a bad product.  As the seasons change, as you move to different environments, as you age, as your diet evolves, throughout your life as you change, you might find your product preferences change, too. There are many factors as to why a product does or doesn’t work for you. If a product isn’t working for you now, that doesn’t mean that it never will.

You can try Honey Halo Hydrating Ceramide Face Moisturizer, for yourself. The product retails for $48 for 50 mL.
