I can smell who you voted for. Literally, and I don’t mean that your body chemistry or pheromones help predict your political leanings. I mean that Donald Trump is selling fragrances at $199 a bottle, and some of them are listed as sold out. You can probably count yourself to sleep with all of the celebrities that have released a fragrance. You would stay wide awake if you tried to do the same thing with heads of state, but this is not ordinary politician. There are four fragrances. This is how the website describes them:
- Victory 47 for women: “A sophisticated, subtly feminine scent that’s your go-to signature for any occasion“
- Victory 47 for men: “rich, masculine notes with a refined, lasting finish”
- Fight Fight Fight for men: “your rallying cry in a bottle…”
- Fight Fight Fight for women: “delicate floral notes and a burst of citrus for an elegant finish” (finally, at least some description of a scent)

Let’s be real. Given there is barely any description of what these fragrances are made from or what they actually smell like, this marketing is not for fragrance lovers. This is marketing towards people with an affinity to this politician and ideology. It is about finding an additional layer to attach to the identity that comes with that. A blind buy with very limited information is not going to bother you if you’re looking for a souvenir more than a daily fragrance.
Okay, here’s the thing. If you read the fine print on the website you will see these words: “Trump” and the associated design are registered trademarks and/or trademarks of CIC Ventures LLC. Trump Fragrances are not designed, manufactured, distributed or sold by Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization or any of their respective affiliates or principals. 45Footwear, LLC uses the Trump name, image and likeness under a license agreement which may be terminated or revoked according to its terms. GetTrumpFragrances.com is not political and has nothing to do with any political campaign.
Donald J. Trump doesn’t really sell fragrances, but he is selling the rights to his name and likeness. That to me is even more interesting, but I think that’s enough for today.
