More masks, please!

I promised that I would have more fun with my skincare, so I decided to do some multimasking. No, not the old social media trend that saw people with multiple concoctions on different parts of their face at one time. Instead, Step 1 – mask, Step 2- a different mask, and continue.

I remember, months ago, while getting a professional facial, I realized that is essentially what the process is. She cleansed my skin, applied an exfoliating mask, and followed with a hydrating treatment. Why couldn’t I do the same for myself at home?

Step 1- Cleanse: I will share more about this product later, but I cleansed my skin with Augustinus Bader cleansing oil. I decided it would be find to use a more gentle cleanser, because I was about to be exfoliating right after.

Step 2- Exfoliate: I applied the Innisfree Volcanic Pore Clay Mask. I allowed it dry for 10 minutes or so and then went through process of thoroughly washing it off.

Step 3- Brighten: We’re having fun right? What a time to follow up with 111Skin Rose Gold Mask. I was concerned about how my skin might react after having just been exfoliated. However, I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t experience any irritation whatsoever.

Step 4- Moisturize: After all my steps, I put on the Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream and went to bed

The next day, I was so happy at the state of my skin. Even though I couldn’t erase my actual tiredness as it showed up on my skin, my skin was well hydrated throughout the rest of the day. That was the first of many a winter day that I had that experience. Maybe it is time to rethink my routine altogether?

So there it is. I said I would do more masks and I stayed true to my word. I believe this facial at home experience is something that I should be doing much more often.

What about you? Have you tried multimasking? This way or the old social media trend version?
