Another vanilla scent: Dream by The Maker

They call it Dream. It’s the vanilla gourmand scent from The Maker. It smells like a comforting vanilla, ever so slightly boozy. It is the interpretation of a vanilla fragrance that I had been looking for. And yet maybe it’s not?

Dream eau de parfum

$175 for 50mL

Notes
Top: Cocoa, magnolia, cinnamon butter
Heart: Vanilla orchid, white sandalwood, caramel
Base: Vetiver, amber, vanilla bourbon

The fragrance itself seems to be finicky when it comes to my skin. I wore this all day yesterday loving how I smelled. The scent lingered on my skin, even after a day full of public transit and being immersed in a conference. (Unfortunately no one seemed to notice or remark on how good I smelled.) Today, and on another day testing the scent, it smelled like a comforting vanilla, dipped in cleaning products. There was a sharp aldehydic note coming through, that would later fade away. I am not entirely sure what the difference was. Maybe it was my nose, my biochemistry, or a mixture of both that changed how the scent showed up on me. But when I can smell the fragrance for what it really is, I enjoy it.

I am glad to finally get a chance to smell something from this brand. I’m looking forward to continuing to wear it and am already planning to invest in the discovery set to smell more scents from the brand. And of course, I am still making dream plans to stay at The Maker Hotel one day.

If you are looking for, yes, yet another vanilla scent, Dream by The Maker is the next one for you try.
