I am shocked at by the staying power Donna Born in Roma Gold. After trying some new fragrances that have faded fairly quickly from my skin, I thought it was me. Fragrances just don’t stay on my skin. But this solar floral is making me change my mind.

Donna Born in Roma Gold eau de parfum
Notes:
Top: Italian mandarin
Heart: golden gardenia
Base: jasmine, coconut
Donna Born in Roma Gold is a limited edition in the feminine Born in Roma fragrance line from Valentino. You might have seen some of the others, including the original Born in Roma, Green Stravaganza, Yellow Dream, and Coral Fantasy. I wish that I had still had them all on hand to compare. Just know that this iteration is, in a sense heavy. It is sweet, floral, and bright, but there is a weight to it that I am having trouble explaining. I think I mean to say that even though the notes lean towards summer, the way that it behaves for me seems more suited for colder weather.
It has the kind of projection that works with the thicker fabrics you might wear when it’s cold. It has projection that I think might be nauseating in the heat. And especially, thinking about the winter, I can spray it on in the morning and it remains on my skin and clothes into the next day. I sprayed it on this morning as I worked through this post, and I can smell it on my skin, after wearing a hoodie all day and doing a workout. I think you have to scrub it off. If you find you don’t like the smell that could be a problem. But if you love it, Amazing! Feel free to enjoy it on you sweaters and coats for quite some time.
If you like floral fragrances with some staying power, I highly recommend you look in Born in Donna Gold, if you can get your hands on it.
