Are you looking for a last minute gift for the masculine fragrance lover who already has it all? Or perhaps they don’t have it all, just a bottle of Dior Sauvage. Even still, can I recommend Sauvage Eau Forte? Yes, I know, “But it’s just Sauvage.” It’s not. It’s different let me explain.
Sauvage is a newer release in the line. It is alcohol free with a more milky watery formulation. If you are at all familiar with the original Sauvage (which I’m not sure how you made it this far in fragrance curiosity without hearing about it), know that this version errs more on the woody side. It doesn’t seem to have any of the citrus burst that the original does. I didn’t test the longevity on this, but I would expect to last less. I will say that personally, I found the projection to be more gentle than what Sauvage is known for.
Admittedly, I will be giving this as a gift, but I had to try this out for myself first. I actually like idea of Eau Forte for myself as a laying scent. When the fragrances I’m wearing are just a little too girly and sweet, it could help to tone them down a bit. I’d personally wear it in more casually situations. But if you are into masculine, you might find this could be your all rounder, something you could wear daily and more formally.
I recommend you give Sauvage Eau Forte a try. And if you’re keen, maybe get a bottle for someone special, too.
