A scalp scrub I actually like

The Ouai Scalp and Body Scrub has my full attention. It is my version of Goldilocks’s choice. It is not too hard, or rather like other scrubs that seem to want to remove all of the layers of my skin. Nor is it too soft, and then might as well just be a cream cleanser. It gives me just the right about of exfoliation while also developing into an enjoyable lather.

I had been using it mostly as a self care day body scrub. But one day I finally tried it for my scalp. I had been hesitant, because as someone with curly hair, I all too often had been left with exfoliant crystals stuck in my hair and feared I may never be able to get them out. But I really wanted my scalp to be squeaky clean one day, so I gave it go. To my surprise, it was just what I needed. Because it was sugar, it melted away after my scrubbing was complete. I didn’t have any remaining bits trapped in my hair. And I got rid of all of the build up and was left with a comfortable and clean scalp.

Because it does both so well -work as a scrub for scalp and body- I am pretty sure I am going to need to repurchase. I like the Bum Bum Scrub by Sol de Janiero, when I want to really “EXFOLIATE!,” but this gentler but effect scrub should stay in rotation in my shower.
