I approached a stranger minding her business, as was I. She turned to me, “You smell good.” “Thank you. No one ever notices.” “Well, you do.” I was wearing Delina Exclusif by Pafums de Marly. I don’t often get fragrance compliments, so when I do I take note.
If you somehow escaped the virality of the original Delina, it was praised as the ultimate compliment getter for its sweet feminine scent. Delina Exclusif is like her more sultry, darker older sister. Between the two, the main commonality is the inclusion of Damascena rose and fruity notes. But after that, they depart.
On the opening, Exclusif smells like a stronger. The fragrance hits more powerfully than the original, and it is almost overpowering. It feels more floral and less fruity, but certainly isn’t. It has a top of pear, lychee, and grapefruit, but perhaps the incense and other notes tame them. Both fragrances have good projection and great longevity.
Admittedly, personally, I might gravitate towards this one more. But both have a place in the fragrance collection and it not feel like a repeat. It Both are feminine, but a different type of woman. The original Delina is for when you want to smell girly and flirty. Exclusif is for when you want to smell womanly and not play games.
I am going to keep playing with both scents. If you are intrigued, I suggest you head in store to smell them for yourself to find your favorite. While you’re at it, you should also try the lighter Delina La Rosée.
