A Wren Says

Your for you page on TikTok is likely already littered with people’s opinions of Glossier You. It is meant to be a scent that morphs on different people, where you smell like you and no one else. On me, I’ve been enjoying it’s comforting sweet but full scent. (Please don’t ask me what I mean by that.) Now I have finally been able to try the new scents from the brand: Glossier You Reve and Glossier You Doux.

I sprayed all three fragrances on paper and compared and contrasted. Glossier You is the base that is easygoing, somehow slightly fruity. I could smell Reve‘s sweetness and the listed buttercream note. I understood the vibe being something that was more evening appropriate. On paper, Doux seemed way too floral to me. I leaned towards Reve.

I sprayed both new fragrances on my skin and was shocked. Reve somehow mixed with my skin to smell like Barbie dolls and Ajax cleaning powder. Some of that is fading off now an hour or so later and the creamy sweetness is pulling through. On the other side, Doux on me morphed into the smell of rolling in a field of flowers and then taking a shower with palo santo burning in the air. You can probably guess which one I prefer on skin. An hour later it still smells just as good.

My personal opinion is that by You and Doux would have a place in my everyday fragrance wardrobe. They’d work great for when I am just out and about. They’d be go-to scents for days where nothing too special is happening, but I still want to put my best self forward. I can’t tell you when Reve would be good, because it just doesn’t work for my skin. Notes wise, it might be good for a low key night out if it works with your body chemistry.
