I wandered the aisles of Illum sniffing candles. I got to one and decided that was the only scent I needed for the rest of the day. It was the Hygge candle from Scandinavisk.
It smelled warm, not in the sense of fragrance definitions but the how the moment it created. I imagine this scent would be the end result if you somehow distilled the feeling of being wrapped up in a cozy blanket in front of a fire with a good book. The warm fuzzy feeling. I debated buying the candle but thought about how it would fare in my poor overstuffed carry-on. With that, I put it back on the shelf. Now, I wish I could be burning that scent now.
Luckily for me, and you as well perhaps, the brand ships to the U.S. And even better for the environment, they offer 200 gram candle refills. Instead of constantly having to figure out what to do with those unrecyclable glass vessels, you can simply refill it for another round of your favorite scent.
