If you aren’t new here, you will know that I am gradually becoming more and more impressed with Cle de Peau. Gradually because the price of the items means that it will take me a while to experience all of the products. This time, I tested out their UV Protective Cream. Quick caveat, I have no way of telling you anything about whether it lives up to its sun protection claims. I’ll save that for the science based sites. I will just let you know what my skin thought of it.

The finish on me was very dewy. I applied this while visiting with family. I was often asked on multiple occasions why my face looked like that. Had I just worked out? What I just sweaty? So, if you are trying to avoid sunscreens that make your face look very shiny/dewy, this is likely not the product for you.

The cream is pinkish in color but went on sheer with no white cast. I also noticed that it worked well under makeup without any pilling or weird behavior.

While I was in store to buy it, the salesperson gave me this tidbit: It was great because it doesn’t sting your eyes. Let me tell you, I of course had to test it out. And I found that to be true to me. As she suggested, I applied the product all over my face, including my eyelids. I never felt like it started to run and burn my eyes, even on a hot and sweaty day. Big plus for me because I had developed a complicated sunscreen routine because that had been an issue for me.

I will say that I do really like the sunscreen. I am also glad that I allowed myself the chance to test it out to satisfy my curiosity. However, it is $140. As great as it is, I probably not going to repurchase it without a substantial change in my income levels.

If you are willing to spend the money, it is definitely worth it, but I think we can find you a great sunscreen below that price point.
