The associate asked what I used as a moisturizer. I said that I was using the Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream. She looked horrified. “Girl, that will do nothing for you.” I said, “I know. I just like to use it while I test out active ingredients.”
If you are new here. I like to use Tatcha because it doesn’t work wonders for my skin. It is just a basic (expensive) moisturizer. That can seem harsh, but that is why I like it. When I am testing out active ingredients in serums or trying new cleansers, or just anything that is a skincare product that is not a moisturizer, I follow it up with Tatcha. It is like my experimental control.
I know that it doesn’t irritate my skin. It doesn’t have a bunch of extra ingredients, but it leaves my skin moisturized. When I am testing out a new product and trying to figure out its effects, I know that the changes in my skin are due to the new addition.
Now, if I were to finally give up on indulging my curiosity and constantly testing new products, I would switch to a more robust moisturizer. I might try to use a moisturizer with active ingredients (like the Tatcha Water Lock Moisturizer). But for now, I need basic and that is what Tatcha is giving me.
Do you have a simple moisturizer you recommend?
