The Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, The Depot is located in downtown Minneapolis. I got there by taking the train and then making the short walk from the stop. After checking in, I headed up to see my room.
The bed was firm, and I slept with no problem. I was happy to have a work station, but the location of it was a little tricky in terms of using outlets and trying to take video calls for work.

The bathroom featured Aveda products and was clean. Nothing else to report here.

My exquisite view of the rooftop meant that I didn’t hear any street noises, but I did have the sound of the external A/C unit as an inconsistent white noise machine. My room neighbors filled in the rest with the sound of the television.

The room had a refrigerator for all my snacks. And the coffee maker got hot enough to make tea! Trust me, that is actually a big deal.
There is a gym with ample equipment. It is bigger than my picture makes it look. I got a great workout in, but it was an adventure to get there. It was at this point that I believed that the hotel felt massive, because it actually two properties fused together. There was some signage that led me to believe that.

The hotel was fine, but most people would end up here because they were attending a conference or event. The event space is where they shined. The ballroom was massive with windows looking to the street. There was an ample number of smaller rooms for breakout sessions. There were touches of old historical elements and the modern.
But even if you aren’t a conference attendee, it had a great location. Close to transit, walking distance from the waterfront and restaurants, and easy access to lot of the downtown area.
