Giving Fleur de Peau by Diptyque a chance

I will admit, Fleur de Peau from Diptyque is a scent that really put me off. On first spray, I regretted the spritz. There was something about it that was overpowering in a bad way. As a result, I refused to wear the scent, until today.

I sprayed the scent on just one wrist, to play it safe. I felt the instant regret, but this time I decided to wait it out, in hopes that something will change as it dried down. I was thankful that I was right. After a while the off-putting smell went away. I was left with something that was much more like a clean scent. It became lightly floral and more like clean skin. I suppose that is how it got the name.

Fleur de Peau eau de parfum

$225 for 75 mL

Notes: Iris, musk, amber, pink peppercorn

It made remember the importance of evaluating a fragrance over a period of time. The decision on whether or not a like a scent can’t just happen right on first spray. I need to take the time to see how the fragrance will behave on my skin and how it will develop over time.

I am learning to enjoy Fleur de Peau. Are there any fragrnces you are starting to like, now that you’ve given them a chance?
