Alright, on three we’re going to do a run through of some of the restaurants I visited while in San Francisco:
Hinodeya

I ordered the creamy vegan ramen. As the waiter walked away, I felt instant regret. “What even is creamy ramen? And how do you make it vegan?” However, when the food arrived, I was assured my choice. It was surprisingly good and a bowl of comfort on the chilly and rainy night. I still don’t fully know what made it creamy, but I would definitely order it again without reservations and branch out to other parts of the menu as well.
Blackwood
We popped into this American Thai Restaurant after playing dress up at Madewell down the way. I noticed all the workers had shirts that said Millionaire Bacon and that the phrase was trademarked on the menu. Of course I would have to try that. I ordered the Pimped up Ramyun. The millionaire bacon is actually good. The downside to the dish was that it was way too much ramen and sodium for the day for me. I wish I had ordered something more Thai inspired instead.

Rooh
This was a progressive Indian restaurant. I thought progressive meant they would continuously offer more plates of food. Nope. They meant it was their spin the on the traditional favorites from the cultural cuisine. Food was served tapas style, so we ordered a bunch for sharing. If you are interested, they offer a drink menu based on Ayurveda. Check the wheel to determine what drink might suit you best for the evening. One note is that the kulfi they served was not a good texture and had a lot of ice crystals. I would pass on that but everything else was good.

Tartine Manufactory
I have to admit, without research, I assumed this was a chain and was arrogant about it. As I fact checked myself, it is largely a local chain with locations in San Francisco, LA, and Seoul. Chain or not, it was good. And clearly plenty of people knew that because the wait to get in on a Sunday morning was long, and parking was sparse. I ordered yogurt and granola. Don’t judge, it was quite good. To go, I had an excellent chocolate chip cookie, a blood orange Danish with flowers, and a croissant. They were all good choices. Forgive me for being an ill-informed food snob. I will come back for fresh baked bread.
