The Conservatory NYC was a fragrant oasis for me

The Conservatory– The name caught my attention as I perused the shop directory for Hudson Yards in New York. When I visited the shopping destination, I made sure to stop by and see what it was all about. Entering the place made me feel disconnected from everything outside. The entry way pulled me out of the hustle and bustle of all the other tourists shopping and into a secluded oasis. I was intrigued by the books and homeware on display. It was all beautiful, but my true love beckoned me. It was all about the fragrance.

This location had a wide selection of niche perfumes and less heavily marketed fragrance houses to choose from. There was a display devoted Byredo fragrances, but I was able to explore and get to know multiple brands that I had never heard of or experienced before.  When I visited on a weeknight, I was the only shopper in store for the most part and was free to smell literally everything. And I did.

I was excited to see they offered the fragrances from La Bouche Rouge in store.  All of their fragrances are named for colors, and I fell in love with the one named Nude. It is a fig fragrance, that I looking back now, regret not bringing home with me. I did, however, get a discovery set from The Harmonist and many many samples.

I’m hoping to visit the store again when I am back in New York, but they have other locations in Dallas and an online store. And if you are not as into fragrances, be sure to look at their wide away of specially curated items. For more information, check them out online (and then definitely enjoy yourself in store when you get a chance.)
