As a fragrance lover, there is nothing better than hearing, “Wow, you smell incredible!,” or just noticing people sniffing trying to figure where that great scent is coming from, when you know it is definitely you. I know that I enjoy getting compliments on my fragrances. It validates some fragrances for me and provides a barometer to tell me whether other people can smell the scent and powerful it might be. The problem is I rarely get compliments on my scent, but I’m not going to change to try and get more. There are multiple reasons why people don’t give compliments. On the negative side:
- They don’t like the way you smell
- They generally don’t like fragrances and don’t want to encourage you wear anymore
- Your fragrance is very strong and they don’t want to encourage you to keep putting it on so strong
- They can’t smell you
Or maybe they do like they scent and they are not vocal about giving compliments. I mean how often have you thought about something you liked about another person and just never said anything. You could smell tantalizingly amazing and still hear nothing. I am going to keep trying fragrances and finding what I love and not be bothered by whether I get a single compliment.
