I tried three products from the Laneige Water Bank line. I have dry skin, and it is winter here where I live. Here are my thoughts, with no preamble today. Let’s get into it.

Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cleansing Foam $25
The cleanser I found to be about on par with other cleansers I have used. It was not overly drying to my skin, but it didn’t leave my skin feeling amazing either. Unfortunately, I forgot to test it out how well it removed makeup. And because I am not about to put on a full face just to test it out now, I’ll just assume it does a mediocre job at that as well.
Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Serum $45
Hmmm. I don’t think this is optimal for my skin. I have found that I have to be particular about hyaluronic serums. They don’t all work for me. This is not included in that group.
Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturizer $40
Now the moisturizer. I used the moisturizer on its on before trying the other two products. At first I would think it was great, but then I looked in the mirror in the morning to see just how dull my skin was. After a few days of just the moisturizer, I used all three products together. Cleanser, serum, moisturizer
Again it was just okay. My skin didn’t feel tight, but it looked dry. Then I decided to add in a different Laneige product to the mix. So I applied their Cream Skin Toner, then the serum, then the moisturizer and still it wasn’t enough. My skin was still dull and not optimally moisturized. Finally, I tried this new combo again and finished it off with a rosewater mist. Then finally, it worked better for my skin much better. But I refuse to do that much work to get a product to work for me.
On the bright side, I liked the packaging.
I am always skeptical when brands market a line for all skin types. Of course, someone with dry skin like mine is going to have different needs. This lightweight product, which may work well for some with oily or combination skin, was not enough to hold the moisture in my skin. I am curious whether the intensive moisturizer would solve my issues, but that is for another day.
