If you are planning a stop in Asheville North Carolina, you likely got a host of recommendations for breweries. Presumably you don’t need another one to add to your itinerary. How about you give a bakery a try: OWL Bakery.

We stopped by their West Asheville location early Saturday morning. We were lucky to do so because the crowds came in shortly after we placed our orders.
Visiting bakeries is always a struggle for me because I desperately want to try everything, but I let prudence take over this time. I just ordered two croissants (Traditional and Almond Rose), a seasonal savory pastry that had caramelized onion and cheese, and an orange mocha. So not too much stuff.

First, I tried the seasonal pastry. The crust was good and flaky, but the downfall just that it all the toppings went sliding off when I took I bite. And I realized that I don’t like strong cheeses in the morning.
My orange mocha was heavenly. I could taste the house made orange flavored syrup added to the drink. I continued to savor it until the last drop.
I waited until the next day to eat the croissants, and they were still flaky and delicious though they were no longer fresh. Which made me think I could have definitely justified buying more to last me through the week back at home.
Personally, I would go back there to try more of what they had to offer. If you are looking for European style baked goods in a picturesque mountain town, this is the stop for you.
