Phlur’s Not Your Baby eau de parfum is potentially what you might think it would smell like. It has a powdery essence, reminiscent of baby products. But there is something about it that would make me pause before putting something of the scent on a little one. It is much more grown up.

Not Your Baby eau de parfum
$26 for 9.5 mL
Notes:
Top: Cardamom, bergamot
Heart: Mimosa, violet
Base: Vanilla milk, sandalwood, tonka beans
Phlur classifies this a floral spicy fragrance. I wouldn’t say that. I don’t think the cardamom is all that present on me to call attention to it. It is just a powdery floral. Nor would I would classify it as “sultry” as the brand does. Unless of course you really find the scent of powdery flowers seductive. Or maybe it smells like a long comforting embrace from someone who gives great advice and really sees you. Like a healthy relationship. I mean it smells good, but to me it seems like a, “Yes, I take regular baths and clean up after myself” scent. But I suppose, that is attractive.
Of course, you can wear whatever scent you like, but I would place this into the more feminine category. It is sweet in demeanor and more floral. It is much more gentle that traditional portrayals of manhood, but because it is so powdery, I think those who are more masculine can get away with wearing it when they want to smell clean, and maybe a bit nostalgic.
As I think about whether I like it or not, I have to admit something to you. When I went to the site to get notes breakdown and saw you could get a full set, including shower gel and lotion, I had really work to enact better judgement. It was enticing; I guess you could say I like the scent. I honestly think this could be an everyday signature scent for someone. It can be casual or dressed up, but either way it just smells good.
