Staying at the Langham Hotel Boston: Room tour

Full disclosure. I opened the door to my room at the Langham Hotel in Boston and gasped. I was truly taken aback by how nice it was. The word I believe is magical. The lighting was good, everything was so thoughtfully placed and in such good condition. I went nosying about discovering every special detail.

The bed was great, the sitting area was lovely, but let me tell you about the closets.

First, it is an actually closet, that appears to have been thoughtfully incorporated into the design. Behind the glass doors, there was a small dresser, robe, and umbrella. When I am in a hotel, I like putting away my clothes and luggage and having them out of sight. This work perfectly. But that is not the closet that really wowed me.

This small armoire looking thing opened up to reveal the coffee station. I was so amazed at it that I took a video to send to a family member thinking about interior design. At the bottom was refrigerated pullout drawer. Stylistically, this piece of furniture was great.

But I was really excited that they included a set of instructions with the coffee machine. Do you know how much time I have spent on vacations just trying to learn how to use the coffee maker.

I appreciated them taking into consideration that most people won’t have that exact machine and would benefit from having a manual. And a tea kettle, so that you weren’t left trying to warm water for your tea through coffee maker and getting a serving of grounds in your cup.

The bed was great, and I didn’t really notice any sounds from the hall or the window. I think it helped that my view from the window was interior facing. Maybe that is something to ask for if you don’t care about the view but are sensitive to sound. However, I didn’t sleep well that first night because I got too excited about trying all the coffee at a local and shop and in room.

The bathroom was grand, marble, and full of Diptyque toiletries. They also provided mouthwash, as a nice touch to the amenity kit.

The last detail is that there was a turndown service. When they did this, they provided two waters on bedside tray, placed slippers and a mat in front of both sides of the bed. In the bathroom, they hung the bathroom in front of the shower and rolled out the bath mat. I thought that was a nice touch.

I originally booked a superior queen room through one of the deals on the site and had been upgraded to a suite. Honestly, I don’t think it I would have minded at all had I been the smaller room. It would really just be the absence of the extra sitting area. (Although, I enjoyed having the extra space to write and set myself up.)

I would definitely book there again. In upcoming posts, I will give you a quick tour of the gym, dining, and my overall thoughts on the service. Stay tuned if you would like to learn more after this special place.
