I liked Miss Dior more than I thought I would

When Christian Dior brought Miss Dior to market in 1947, it was with the desire to bring women a bit of light in the midst of a dark world. The original formulation was a response to the terror world had experienced due to the war. He wanted to bring back a sense of love, happiness, and femininity. Though quite different from the original, the brand has still managed to bottle a bright spirit in this most recent formulation.

Miss Dior eau de parfum

$160 3.4 oz

Key notes

Lily of the Valley, Peony, Iris, Centifolia rose, musk, benzoin, tonka bean, sandalwood

I have been wearing Miss Dior over the past few days. I felt pretty. I found it to be a fresh floral with a bit of powderiness. I would say it smells sweet in personality, not in scent. This had moderate longevity and projection on my skin. However, I didn’t like how it smelled on me at the very end of the day, when it got down to just its woody base. Well, don’t get me wrong, I love a woody fragrance, but I missed the bright floral nature from the beginning and wanted that signature to stay with me throughout the day.

I like it more than I thought I would. Because the bottle is so cute with its bowtie, I thought this would seem to cutesy and young, maybe too girly. However, I was surprised to find it fitting, and perhaps it would make a great everyday scent for all ages. And even though I was dressed very casually, the scent didn’t seem out of place. I will say, that it does feel more feminine, as it was intended to.

Personally, I will be wearing this again, but I would choose to simply reapply to get back to those notes I loved most in this.  If you are looking for a soft, fresh floral fragrance, be sure to try Miss Dior for yourself.
