How I’m using the Osea Ocean Cleanser

I use the Osea Ocean Cleanser on those days when I feel like my skin could use some help. It’s those days when I want a little exfoliation or think my pores are getting out of control. I pump some of the product into my hands, apply it to my damp face, and clean my skin. I will admit that it is pretty drying, which is not ideal for my already dry skin, but I like the results. I just have to make sure to follow it up with good moisturizer After I find that my pores are more refined and my skin just seems better. Quick caveat. This is not a product that use or would ever use every day. At most I will use it two nights in a row. I say that because I learned my lesson from the first time I tried this product.

Osea Ocean Cleanser

$48 for 5 oz

Key ingredients: Lactic Acid, Bentonite clay, Undaria seaweed

Back then, my very first exposure to this product was a bad one. I was maybe too excited to try this product I knew nothing about. Eager as I was to see results, I made sure to use it consistently, every day. Well, I certainly saw a difference. Within the first two weeks, I started to see signs in my skin that led me straight to Google. I convinced myself that the painful bumps and irritation were the purging that I heard people talking about. So, I kept using it for a for a month. Because of course, that is what you have to do to see a difference. The problems only got worse, until I finally stopping using the product.

I made the decision to test the product out again, given what I have learned about how my skin responds to lactic acid, a key ingredient in the product. Rather than vilifying the product and the brand, I came to recognize that I have to be mindful of how I use certain actives in my routine. For me, lactic acid works best when I use it occasionally as a special treatment rather than daily.

Maybe this is an approach for you to consider as well as you also mature into your skincare journey. Start learning more about what the key ingredients are in the products you use and how your skin responds. Keep track of your results and use that information to be critical about how to incorporate different products into your routine.
