This is going to be a very quick review of Maison Margiela’s Under the Lemon Tree. I was surprised that it was a subtle lemon scent. I was expecting the scent to hit me like the burst of citrus in cleaning supplies. This is much more subdued. Perhaps it is a way paying homage to the lemon, with its juices still contained in the fruit hanging on the trees.

Maison Margiela Under the Lemon Trees eau de toilette
Notes:
Top: Kalamansi lime, petit grain, cardamom
Heart: Coriander, mate, green tea
Base: Cedarwood essence, cistus, musks
I find the fragrance to be equally subtle on my skin. I went to the gym and the grocery store and didn’t seem to attract any attention. I myself have to remember to actively smell to check for the scent.
I don’t really know how I feel about this. I am not even sure I am in the position to make a recommendation for who this would be best for. I am going to have to play with this some more. If you have had the chance to work with this scent for some time, let me know what you think of it.
