For when you just want to smell vanilla- The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods

Sometimes you want to wear fragrance that smells amazing but is inoffensive. Maybe you’re going to be in a tight space and don’t want all the other passengers to hate you. Or maybe you’re going to be meeting a client and don’t want to lose the deal all because of how you smelled. Or maybe this is just how you like to smell all the time, pleasantly simple.  Sometimes you just want to smell, well, vanilla. Well, I have a very vanilla fragrance for all of your situations that might do the trick.

The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods

$88 for a 50 mL perfume

Notes:

Top: Pear

Heart: Rose

Base: Vanilla, amber, caramel

Vanilla Woods from The 7 Virtues is what I turned to yesterday. It is a rich and balanced vanilla fragrance that is not too sweet or gourmand for my taste. I was heading out to dinner and wanted to smell good but not overpower the person I was meeting, who is notorious for not liking fragrances. When I wore this fragrance yesterday, I received no comments. It could be because the product didn’t project much, it could be because no one was close enough to smell me, or maybe it was just because I didn’t smell such a way that anyone needed to comment. And that is exactly the result I wanted, to fly under the radar.  However, I did notice the scent on my scent hours later, so it didn’t just disappear.

As an important note 7 Virtues recommends this fragrance as best for alleviating stress. Another use that I have found for the perfumed oil is as part of a bedtime routine. I take the rollerball, swiping it onto my wrists and deeply inhaling the scent. Of course, it can also be used as part of a mindfulness exercise to calm yourself during the day. As you apply the fragrance, repeat a phrase or mantra you need to hear to overcome a difficulty or focus throughout the day. Then as you notice the fragrance on yourself, recall those words again.

I personally enjoy this fragrance and will keep wearing it. If you are looking to expand your collection of vanilla fragrances, give this one a try.
