I want to like the collagen face mask from Dr Jart

I will start this way. I had very high hopes for the Dr Jart Cryo Rubber Mask. When I was looking at it at Sephora, the associate raved about the product. That definitely swayed me into making the purchase, which in hindsight was probably the goal. I went back for a bit of a relaxing spa evening. That was the intent.

It started off a bit dicey for me. The mask comes with an ampoule of serum and a mask to lay on top to help it do its magic. I smoothed the entire ampoule all over my face as instructed. And then I went to put the mask over top. I couldn’t get it to lay completely on the bottom of my face. With the way that it is designed, it had a small slit presumably to be able to overlap the parts of the mask to fit the curve your face. But the slits were too small really help, and the material was too thick to stick to itself. After trying my best, I just went ahead and set the timer.

The bottom half fell off at 25 minutes. I was sitting still doing computer tasks. I could feel it coming off of my face the whole time. I refused to adjust to see how far it would go. To the floor. It went to the floor just 5 minutes shy of the total 30 minute wait time.

On the bright side, my face felt very moisturized and I didn’t feel any irritation. The downside is the mask doesn’t fit on my face and fell off it all together. For a sheet mask, that seems like a strong negative.

I wouldn’t buy it again. Should you try it? Sure, if you want a product that will hydrate and plump skin in a short time. And if you are willing to take a lie down spa day. Or maybe if you have the perfect Dr Jart face shape it would work great for you. Or maybe you could get something of Amazon to wear to keep the mask in place. Personally, I wouldn’t do that. However, if they were to sell the ampoIules on their own, I’d take another look.

Final review: Great serum, but mask didn’t stay on.
