I had been holding on to the samples of Cashmere Mist by Donna Karan for a while. I must admit, it was because for some reason I thought this would smell like a grandma. Not my grandma, but someone’s out there in the world. When I did finally spray it, it did smell mature, but not in a way that seemed completely out of keeping with my age bracket. There is a floral powderyness to this. It is feminine and respectable. It seems, when applied in a subtle way, to be boardroom appropriate, but maybe more behind the scenes collaborator than the loud personality who is front and center.

$130 for 100 mL
Key notes: Moroccan jasmine, lily of the valley, sandalwood
When I wore this fragrance out, I did not get any comments or compliments. I assume it didn’t come off as too strong. But another day I tried it, it seemed overpowering to me, just sitting at home. I believe this is one that could definitely go overboard on, so be mindful how you apply it.
I didn’t hate it, but I just think it is not quite me. I would have to dig deep figure out how I could wear it and it not feel like I have on a fragrance costume. However, if you are looking for a soft, powdery scent, you might want to give this one a try.
