It’s happened to the best of us. You pull up to your location, ready to go. Then you take a quick look in the mirror only to realize that you in fact are not ready to go. You don’t even want to be seen; you look a mess. For emergencies like this, I am starting to pull together a set of items that I am starting to keep in my car so I can walk out of it much more confidently. This is the list of must haves.
- Hair tools: Bobby pins, hair bands, small brush and/or comb
- Travel-sized lotion
- Liquid lip balm- because it can’t melt in your car if it is already liquid. (Big brain move)
- Eyebrow gel or at least a spoolie to groom them
- Lint roller
- Gel or non-aerosol spray deodorant.
- Bonus items:
- Complete change of clothes, because you never know when you might spill your coffee at the least optimal time
- Sewing kit
- Nonperishable snacks
- Water
- Umbrella
- An actual emergency kit
- Two things I do not recommend you keep in your car:
- Sunscreen and fragrance because they will degrade in the heat
This is a short list that can easily fit in your glove box or center console (minus the bonus items, of course). What do you think I missed?
