Boho115 : This restaurant review is going to be quick

We are back to Atlanta and time to review another restaurant, quickly, because I have stuff to do. I went with a group on the recommendation of a local who raved about it. Never a miss, they said. Well, streaks were meant to be broken. Today we have Boho115, a seafood forward restaurant in the Decatur area.

The first thing I tasted was the calamari. Along with the fried squid, which was well seasoned and properly crisp, the plate included fried onions, lemons and jalapenos mixed in there. That definitely caught me off guard. Onions and jalapenos are great fried. But having eaten the lemon, I revise my previous beliefs. Not everything tastes better fried.

As a second appetizer, we also had chips and guac. Which being what it was, was good enough. I actually like the guac. And I will say putting the fried jalapeno on top was a win. But then we get to my entrée.

I ordered the Spicy Tuna Steak- By spicy, did they mean blackened? Heavily seasoned? I mean there were visible spices on it, but there was no heat. And it was extremely overcooked. Eating it was a chore that I committed myself to, only because I wanted to hit my protein goal for the day. The salad was a salad and the potatoes were surprising creamy and well-seasoned. The sides were definitely the winners on the plate, even if by not much.

I am going to tell myself it was just an off day. And maybe I really should have just ordered the shrimp tacos. Honestly, I would be back, to at least the area. I might have to do a more in-depth exploration of the Downtown Decatur area. There are a lot of restaurants and nightlife to boot, which means I could potentially find something to rave about. If you do try the restaurant, please tell me about your experience.
