If you can never seem to find the time to do the things you want

I readied myself for bed, exhausted. There was still a pile of laundry unfolded, a stretch of floor unmopped, and a general set of tasks undone. “I don’t understand. Why can’t I ever find the time to get this done.” I continued on, defeated.

If you were to rewind a few hours before, you would probably see the exact moment I fell into the rabbit hole that stole all my time from me. I innocently went searching for a bit of entertainment but was trapped by a conspiracy theory about celebrity plastic surgery. Of course, I needed to find all of the before pictures, watch all of the YouTube shorts, zoom in on her face, and then follow a completely different suggested trail. At the end I was tired. But with a full day and early morning ahead of me, I just went to bed. Maybe I didn’t need to learn all about celebrities hide their procedures, but I used up all my time to do that. I had to admit to myself that I had the time; I just gave it away to an undeserving cause.

If you are anything like me and wondering where all the time seems to go, maybe it’s time to be honest where you put it. Did you consciously invest your time into your goals and pursuits? Or did you waste it and give it away to something else?
