Let’s take a minute to review the Dior Prestige La Crème

Yes, you probably know the world of bougie skincare that is La Mer. Please have a quick foray into designer skincare. At a price that makes Crème de la Mer blush, I present to you La Crème from Dior’s prestige line. The product comes in three textures to suit all skin types: Texture fine for oilier skin, the texture essentielle for normal skin, and texture riche for dry to very dry skin. I personally used the original texture essentielle as my nighttime moisturizer for about a month.  This is my experience.

Dior Prestige La Crème Texture Essentielle

$430 for 1.7 oz

An intensive repairing cream powered by Dior’s signature Rose de Granville

First, how would I describe the texture? It is a cream that feels oil based, but not oily. It’s light, but it still does something for my dry skin. I found that on its own it was just a moisturizer. I thought to myself, “Is that it?” But like most skincare, the results happen over time. I can’t give product specific results update because I was using it with the serum most days, but I noticed that overtime my skin just looked better. It was a smoother texture and the dark marks on my face had faded even more. I was getting more compliments on my skin as well.

Unfortunately, I would get the tiniest bit of dryness on my forehead in the morning. I chalk this up to me not having the formulation that is right for me. I should, because my skin type is the dry/very dry range, try the rich version. Add though the product claims it helps with smoothing fine lines, I didn’t notice a difference there on my skin. But maybe that is something that comes after two months.

I am always trying new skincare, so I don’t see myself buying this in the future while I’m on this journey. However, if I calm down and stick to one product, I could see myself trying this again in the texture riche. If you have been looking to make a luxurious skincare splurge, I would say you should give this a try, but make sure to choose the version best targeted for your skin type. (Although, if you want to make just a little baby luxury purchase, only the original version is offered in .5 oz version.)
