This is the start on my series on my experience at the Nobu Hotel in Atlanta. Let’s start with even getting there.
You of course have multiple options, depending on how you decide to get to the city. If you are coming from the airport, this location is roughly 30 minutes aware by car. If you so desire, you can take public transit, which takes about an hour with combination of train and walking. I chose to drive. Nobu provides self-parking or valet, both for a fee. Self-parking is substantially less expensive so I went that option. The GPS routed me into that parking garage. I honestly feared I would have to abandon my car there.
Nobu is connected Phipps Plaza, an Atlanta area shopping destination. That means its parking garage is the mall’s parking garage, which is huge and complicated. I drove around for a good bit and finally saw a sign and door for Nobu. Only then to see a sign that clearly stated no overnight parking. This is not ideal for a hotel guest, so I kept going trying to find the overnight sign. And then I got lost. And then I was genuinely concerned I would never make it out of that garage, let alone make it to the hotel.

After finally getting out of that maze and back to the street, I navigated back to the mall, saw the hotel sign, and gladly paid the premium for valet. If nothing else, it was worth the security of my car not being towed or the stress of reentering the labyrinth.
If you are planning to stay at Nobu Atlanta, this is what I suggest:
- Just go with the valet to save the stress, or
- Call ahead of time to confirm the location for guest parking, or
- Just Uber there and not have to worry about any of that.
Tomorrow, I will let you know about the experience once you get inside.
