I previously sang the praises of 111Skin on this blog. Big fan of the biocellulose they use to make the masks, particularly the anti-maskne one. I previously tried their Cryo Depuffing Facial Mask and decided that today was the day to try it again.

$32 for one mask, $135 for 5 masks
Mask with caffeine and peptides to increase circulation and help produce more youthful looking skin
The first time I used these masks, it was in the morning, on a day when I looked puffy and needed to hop on a zoom call. Well, my face looked puffier right after using it, and I felt it was irritated. The area around my nose was very sensitive and that is exactly where I felt it stinging. The worst part was that it left a film on my face. Maybe I didn’t follow the directions properly, but I immediately followed with my moisturizer and could feel sticky residue on my face. It was like pulling glue off of my face. Maybe after it depuffs you’re supposed to wash it off and then apply the rest of your regimen? I’ll give it another try.
It’s allergy season. I tried this mask again because may face was puffy and I had an 8:30 meeting. Perfect situation to try a second time. When the 20 minutes were up, my face looked awake. If I hadn’t accidentally poked myself in the eye with the mask, both eyes would have been depuffed. As it stood, only my right eye was doing alright.
This time around, I didn’t have any irritation, and the mask did what it said it would. But yet again, it left a bit of a film. Trying to put on moisturizer it definitely started to ball up. I just checked the site; the brand recommends just patting the product into your skin and continuing with your skin care regimen. I wonder what products you would have to use that work well with the formula and don’t ball up.
What are my final thoughts? This one seems tricky. Potentially this is not the best for sensitive skin. Potentially it won’t be good for you if it doesn’t mix well with your other products. And maybe if it just will leave a film on your skin. It did do some depuffing, but I imagine that the results would be better over time with repeated use. I don’t know that I would personally buy this product again. The film left behind plus the sometimes irritation plus the price tag makes this a pass for me. But it might work better for you. I do still want to try other products from the brand. I have tried products that worked well for me. This seems like a miss, but I will give them another chance.
Also if you are just worried about puffy undereyes, you might do well to use their depuffing eye masks.
