The dining options at the Knickerbocker hotel include Charlie’s, Jakes, and in-room dining.

The only meals I had at Charlie’s were the daily breakfasts. The first day we got there close to 10 AM. The eggs were cold and disappointing. The croissant was so-so. The second day, I only got yogurt, to avoid the disappointment. But the last day? The last day I was down there shortly after 7. Everything was hot and good. What a difference timing makes. It shouldn’t, but it did.
From Jakes, I went and ordered a tea the first day. It is a tea bag steeped in hot water, nothing special. The sandwiches and cookies I bought the last day were pretty good. I will say, I bet the sandwich would have been better toasted, but there was no time for that. I like the cookie, but it was called Salted chocolate chip, but it was not at all salty. Good, but not as advertised.

When I called in-room dining, I ordered a burger and fries. Because why not? It came 5 minutes faster than the proposed time. That was plus. My burger seemed a bit cold. But, I also spent time continuing to pack and taking pictures instead of eating. The fries were alright.
I think the service, as in the people-to-people interactions were great. All of the staff in each dining environment were personable and helpful. But the food didn’t meet their standard. If I were to go back to this hotel. I might try and order different things and give them a second chance. If the food can get to the standard of the people they have front of line, it will be amazing.
