The new Le Serum by Dior is out. This is what I thought of the old version.

My original goal was to come you with a review of the Capture Totale Super Potent Serum. However, that product has been discontinued. No matter how helpful my review is, you cannot buy it. (I will still give you a review towards the end.) Dior have now introduced Le Sérum to the lineup as the updated replacement

Le Sérum is composed of 98% natural origin ingredients and formulated to target the signs of aging: lines and wrinkles, skin elasticity, and pore visibility. The key ingredients that do that job are:

  • Fermented longoza extract from Madagascar- revitalization
  • Iris extract- skin structure
  • Hyaluronic acid poly filler technology- plumping

Each morning and night, they recommend you apply the product by “defining” your facial contours and then following up with cream and eye serum. Dior claims that your results improve over time as you continue to use the product.

I used the precursor to this product, the Capture Totale Serum for roughly two weeks total intermittently. The consistency is a light liquid. For the most part, I used it in combination with the accompanying moisturizer. However, I did on some occasions use it alone, not following with moisturizer. It was fine. I didn’t have issues with my skin being overly dry in the morning, but it wasn’t plump. I definitely recommend using this in combination with a moisturizer, especially if you have dry skin. I also used this with the Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream on occasion and found that it worked great together with that product.

I’ll leave the same note as I did on my review of the Capture Totale Cream: I thought the products were really doing much for me and was prepared to say as such. But looking up the benefits, I went back to study my face. My pores are actually much less visible. Well done Dior. Well done.

I haven’t tried the new formulation out, so I can’t give a true recommendation. But given my experience with the Super Potent Serum and assuming the new version is an improvement, I suggest you give it a try. If you have dry skin and are interested in trying something new, this might be a good step in your skincare routine. And if you have oilier skin, you might even be able to get away with using this without a moisturizer on top, especially if you live in a more humid environment.
