Conrad Los Angeles, just another new luxury hotel I have learned about

I am not sure where I got this from, but I have become obsessed with looking for the nicest hotels around, and then wishing upon a star to one day stay there. Today’s new hotel I just learned about is the Conrad Los Angeles. I admit, this was all inspired by the CNN list of the best hotels. Let’s look at the high points.

  1. It is located in Downtown LA. Now you decide if that really belongs on the pros list, but it does mean you get amazing views of the city.
  2. It has a spa. One of these days I am actually going to go to a spa.
  3. The building was designed by Frank Gehry. And if you are familiar with the architect’s work, you expect stunning and break taking. It delivers. He is also responsible for the entire Grand LA Complex, which includes the hotel, Museum of Contemporary Art, and Walt Disney Concert Hall
  4. The décor is modern, chic, earth toned. I like.
  5.  it is part of the Hilton Honors Program, so you can earn points with that program.
  6. Chef José Andrés is involved, which means delicious food awaits you.

I can’t say that I have really looked in to traveling to LA as an adult, other than a few restaurants I’d heard of and liked to try. But I am curious about the experience of this hotel, that only opened in July 2022. Now, this is an aspirational post, because at a starting rate of $749 a night, it will be a long while before I ever book a room. But here is the quick list of details about the place

I personally have not had the pleasure of staying at the Conrad. But if you would like to hear from someone who has, check out this article from Melanie Lieberman of The Points Guy.
