On first spray of Byredo’s Blanche, I thought, “This smells nice.” But since I am trying, mightily, to get better at understanding fragrances, I tried to go deeper. “Is it clean linen, with maybe white florals, a touch of citrus?” Here are the actual notes:

$200 for 50 mL
Notes:
Top: Aldehyde, rose centifolia
Heart: Peony, violet
Base: Musks, sandalwood
As they describe it, Byredo uses the words “laundry,” and “fresh sheets.” So, though I was wrong, I wasn’t not totally off base.
When I sprayed it on at 2 PM, I could smell it on my skin at midnight, but it wasn’t projecting heavily then. It sat close to me. As far as compliments go, I did get one, “Ooh, what fragrance is that?” from a coworker. I would say it had moderate projection then.
I gotta tell you, I liked this one. It just seems like an easygoing fragrance, that you can spray on, smell good, and be nonpolarizing. I would happily wear it again and again, and potentially invest in a bottle. But more importantly, I am now curious about the scents that people have raved about, including Mojave Ghost.
Those are my thoughts. What about yours? Have you tried this or any of the other Byredo fragrances?
