I tried the Osea Advanced Protection Cream over the course of three days. I was going to say that it was okay, but it was … interesting. I found that it was a thick cream that I had to work into my skin. But despite that, it didn’t leave my skin hydrated. The next day, since I applied it at night, I found that my skin was parched, with obvious and visible dry patches in some places. The next evening, I caked it on, applying a layer that looked like I was wearing a face mask. The next morning, I barely broke even on hydration. Even with that much effort. I didn’t find that I was getting the extra benefits.

Osea Advanced Protection Cream
$108 for 2 ounces
Thick cream that uses seaweed to hydrate and plump skin
I thought maybe the cream was just not formulated for my skin type, but they do suggest it for dry, sensitive, and aging skin. That means it should be very hydrated. Now, reading the site, they suggest that you layer it over a serum and oil. Does that mean I shouldn’t have expected it to be fully moisturizing on its own?
Perhaps some of their other products would be a better fit for me. When I did the skincare quiz on the site, they didn’t recommend the cream for me. They instead suggested their hyaluronic serum and an oil. If you also have dryer skin, maybe this product would work for you, if you use it along with a serum and oil. If you have normal or oilier skin, maybe this would be fine for you on its own.
I’m not sure what to make of this brand, but I don’t think I would use this cream again. I am getting more brutal about stopping products that my skin isn’t reacting to fondly, instead trying to finish things out to see what happens when I finish it up. Personally, I am trying to find a one and done moisturizer that won’t rely on a serum/oil step to hydrate my skin.
But as always, I want to know your experiences. Have you tried this brand before?
