The Joanna Vargas Exfoliating Mask reviewed

I opened the sample packet for the Joanna Vargas Exfoliating Mask and was awed. It was pretty. I mean, it was like liquid gold. How can you not feel luxurious when rubbing your face with liquid gold. Well, when it’s filled with tiny rocks that feel as if they are rubbing off your skin, maybe that doesn’t feel very luxurious.

Joanna Vargas Exfoliating Mask

$75 for 50mL

An combination of physical and chemical exfoliants to reveal smooth and glowy skin

I rubbed the mask onto my face for what was an uncomfortable minute and then let it dry for the time it took me to drink some water and brush my teeth. About four minutes.

I washed it off and had to admit that my face felt smooth. I put on my regular moisturizer. The next day, I also had to admit that my face was still smooth, and dare I say I looked better. Which is frustrating, because there is no reason it should have felt that uncomfortable to get to that result. I know they say beauty is pain, but sheesh.

That being said, would I recommend this?

Yes, if you like a good physical exfoliator and want to feel luxurious. I mean it certainly does its job.

No, if you have sensitive skin. Please don’t bother. This will be way too rough for you. Leave that pretty face of yours alone.

Would I use it again? Potentially. I definitely would not make this a weekly thing (like the recommend), but I could see myself doing this quarterly in preparation for an event where I need to put my best face forward.

But as ever, I’m curious on your thoughts. Would you try this? Have you already tried it? What do you think on physical exfoliants in products?
