Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream

$60

A lightweight, whipped, moisturizer

I guess I’ll keep this short. Reminder, I have dry skin. The Lala Retro Whipped Cream didn’t do anything special for me. It seems like a dry moisturizer. What I mean about that is there is no dew. You’re not ashy, but there is still a bit of letdown. I did also experience some dryness on my forehead on some days. And also seems like I have more acne right now. Small bumps here and there and larger breakouts across my jawline. I am not sure if it is connected, but the product certainly didn’t help.

After taking a week away from using the product, I used it one more time. This time layering the U Beauty Bioactive Barrier Treatment. Finally, some dew! But there were still some dry patches upon waking up. And my skin stung a bit when I applied the moisturizer. I regretted giving it a second chance.

If you have normal to oily skin, or don’t want your moisturizer to leave you looking dewy, this might be a good idea for you.

Personally though, I would not try this again. It just doesn’t seem right for my skin. And I have had issues with their products before. The third time was no charm. At this point, I don’t know if my skin doesn’t like Marula oil (the key ingredient in most of the Drunk Elephant lineup) or if is just something about the brand overall.

If you have the chance to try it, let me know your thoughts.
