After I gushed about why 111Skin is now my favorite mask brand, you many wondering what mask I tried. My entry into the brand started with their Maskne Protection Bio Cellulose Mask. I was looking into a solution for the problems that my skin endured as a result of all the mask-wearing I was doing.

I have/choose to wear a mask a lot and began to notice my skin getting a lot more irritated. I knew there had to be a product to address this. The answer was to put on yet another mask.

This Bio-Cellulose mask covers just the lower part of your face, kind of like a fake beard. It, to help soothe those areas that would be affected by your PPE/protective face coverings. You adhere it to your clean face, and let it do its job for 20 minutes. They say that you could also wear it underneath your PPE. I have not done that yet.

I found it soothed my skin. It was not a magic treatment that made my blemishes disappear instantly, but it definitely helped calm down eruptions. While it is marketed as for oily, blemish prone skin, I found it worked great for me and my dry skin. In fact, I often just took the mask off and went to bed, without applying and additional moisturizer over it. I didn’t have any problems with dryness in the morning.

Do I recommend this? Wholeheartedly, yes. These have been life savers. I have been putting them on maybe once a week to calm my skin from my frequent mask wearing. (They recommend using three times per week for the best results. Maybe that would be best, however, I don’t think I could stomach that kind of investment right now.) I just save it for those days when I have to wear a mask multiple days in a row for hours on end. I feel my skin does feel soothed.

Even if you don’t wear masks/PPE regularly, this would still be great for hormonal acne or just acne that is concentrated on the chin and lower jaw line. As I transition away from wearing PPE, I plan to still keep a stash on hand. I may even send this product to family members just to get them to love it too.

I want to try more of their products. I have high hopes. I am especially curious about the Celestial Black Diamond line.
