You might already know Kilian for some fantastic premium fragrances. There is also the My Kind of Love Line that originally released in 2018. I had the discovery set. The green tea notes of Princess made it my favorite of the four. It also launched my obsession with tea-based fragrances. After I fell for it, those fragrances were removed from market. Well, Princess returned earlier this year in a rebrand. Previously, the fragrances were packaged in spheres that sat atop of word art. They are now in a sleeker bottle.
I know reading reviews before, people loved the fragrances, but were too embarrassed to have such an obnoxious display on their vanities. It felt too childish too some, while others thought the messaging was unnecessary. And the bottle itself was impractical, given its shape and the location of the sprayer. Even though the use of word art remains, hopefully this new packaging will help the fragrances shine and more people will be willing to try and buy it.
But this reminds me that part of the experience of enjoying fragrances is the bottle. Yes, most of us buy fragrances to make ourselves smell good. And maybe it should be all about the fragrance itself. But man, it doesn’t hurt to have a seriously aesthetic bottle on your counter to add to your décor.
What are your thoughts? How much does the bottle matter to you?
